Is the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon inspired by the Ultraman World Championships?

Yes. The UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon was born from the desire to have in Brazil an event with the same characteristics as the Ultraman World Championships. It is important to note that the Race Directors of the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon have, combined, more than 30 participations in the Ultraman World Championships and Ultraman Canada.

No, although the distances for swimming, cycling and running are the same as the Ultraman World Championships, the two events are not affiliated.

If I complete the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon will I be able to apply for a spot in the Ultraman World Championships?
Yes, but the selection and approval criteria are the sole prerogative of the organizers of the Ultraman World Championships. Thus, you may or may not be selected to participate in the event. However, it is important to highlight that completing the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon can become an important element of your sports curriculum, considering the possibilities of participating in Ultraman events and other events whose participation is by invitation.

Why is it necessary for the candidate to send his / her sports curriculum and participation is by invitation only from the organization?
The previous analysis of the curriculum by the organization aims to provide confirmation that candidates have physical and psychological conditions to participate in the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon. The race directors also look for "something more" in the candidates - other elements besides simply the search for an athletic challenge -, which each year generates a unique group of participants. So, when applying, make it very clear what are the other elements that are motivating you to participate.

Why does the organization reserve the right to choose candidates who have completed at least one triathlon with Ironman distances in the twelve months preceding the race? Why is it a precondition that the candidate has completed this test in no more than 14 hours?
Because having completed a triathlon with Ironman distances in the twelve months preceding the race is an indicator that the candidate may be physically conditioned to participate in the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon. The maximum time of 14 hours is an indicator that the athlete can physically meet the maximum time limit of twelve hours for each of the three days of the event. Traveling 515 kilometers exclusively autonomously and within 36 hours should not be underestimated, as the high DNF rate of UB515 athletes (including some of the best athletes in the world of ultra triathlon) proves.

Why is the UB515 Brasil Ultra Triathlon Term of Responsibility so strict and wide-ranging as to the athlete to assume all risks when participating in the event?
The UB515 Ultratriathlon is a unique event with regard to the physical and psychological conditioning profile of the participating athletes and can take them to the limits of their physical and mental capacities. Thus, the athlete must fully assume all risks related to his physical and psychological health. With regard to logistics, this is also a unique event. Unlike other triathlons with shorter distances, all routes are open to vehicle traffic, thus generating all the risks inherent in this context. Thus, the athlete must fully assume all risks related to his physical integrity.
